Council Consent Agenda

The following resolutions have been prepared to facilitate Council’s consideration of various matters and are suggested for consideration. If Council wishes to address a specific report in isolation of the Consent Agenda, please identify the item. It will be extracted and dealt with separately as part of the Items for Discussion.

302 and 306 Edinburgh Rd S - Application to remove properties from the Municipal Heritage Register - 2024-408

• Recommendation:
  1. That 302 and 306 Edinburgh Road South be removed from the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties after the successful installation of the stone markers to their original location at 99 Woolwich Street.

Grant Opportunity- Endorsement Request for the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund Applications

(Report will be added to the revised agenda)

• Recommendation:
  1. That Council endorse the City of Guelph’s grant application to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund for Funding Stream 1 – Repair and Rebuild, offered through the Ministry of Sport, for the Lyon Outdoor Pool Rehabilitation project as outlined in the Grant Opportunity- Endorsement Request for the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund Applications report dated October 8, 2024.  
  2. That Council endorse the City of Guelph’s grant application to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund for Funding Stream 2 – New Builds and Signature New Builds, offered through the Ministry of Sport, for the South End Community Centre - Value Added Enhancements project as outlined in the Grant Opportunity- Endorsement Request for the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund Applications report dated October 8, 2024.

• Recommendation:
  1. That the application from Van Harten Surveying Inc. on behalf of 8 Mitchell St Inc. for a Zoning By-law Amendment to change the zoning from the current Neighbourhood Institutional (NI) Zone (2023 – 20790) to a Specialized Low Density Residential (RL.1-XX) Zone to permit the proposed semi-detached dwellings on the lands municipally known as 8 Mitchell Street, from Infrastructure, Development and Environment dated October 8, 2024, be received.

Affordable Housing Demonstration Project - 2024-414

• Recommendation:
  1. That Council direct that 14 Edinburgh Road South be declared surplus land.
  2. That Council direct staff to initiate a Request for Proposal for the development of a minimum of 12 affordable housing units at 14 Edinburgh Road South.
