She also outlined forecasts and targets under the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and provided a summary of the planning process steps for development applications.
Melissa Aldunate, Manager, Policy Planning and Urban Design, discussed the topics of affordable housing and inclusionary zoning, including statistics related to different housing types in the city, what is considered to be affordable housing, and how inclusionary zoning can be used as a tool to require affordable housing units.
Chris DeVriendt, Manager, Development Planning, outlined the city's Community Energy Initiative (CEI) as it relates to the development review process and implementing CEI action items through Planning Act applications.
Krista Walkey provided an overview of the city's zoning parking study and outlined the role of elected officials in the planning process.
Susan Hall facilitated a discussion with members of City Council related to land use planning.
