The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 12:03 p.m.

Chair Epp provided disclosure of pecuniary related to item 3.2 37 Christie Lane: Cultural Heritage Evaluation and Heritage Attributes Report.

    That the minutes from the June 3, 2024 meeting of the Heritage Guelph Committee, be approved.

Jack Mallon, Heritage Planner provided a presentation on 150 Delhi Street (Homewood): Heritage Permit Application.

    THAT Heritage Guelph provides the following comments to the General Manager of Planning and Building Services with respect to the heritage permit application for 150 Delhi Street:

    • The portico door and exterior windows should be salvaged or documented for future use or reinstallation.
    • Advise that cornerstone will work with Stephen and Jack on salvageability of original balustrades and bricks proposed for removal.
    • Shelley to work with Homewood Staff to have a plan in place for storage of original heritage materials

    The proposed alterations at 150 Delhi Street do not negatively impact the heritage attributes identified in Designation By-law (2018)- 20346.

    THAT the comments provided by Heritage Guelph members on the '37 Christie Lane: Cultural Heritage Evaluation Report’ be provided to staff and Council for their consideration:

    • More detail should be added to the Heritage attributes list
    • Advise that staff continue to work with the University on the conservation of the Rutherford Conservatory

    THAT the committee request that staff return to Heritage Guelph in September with an updated list of heritage attributes

Stephen Robinson, Senior Heritage Planner provided a presentation on  106 Carden Street: Heritage Attributes Report.

    THAT Heritage Guelph supports the heritage attributes identified for 106 Carden Streets, with the following amendments to note that scale refers to  the existing wood opening and cast iron columns and that the limestone is local Guelph-Wellington limestone, as outlined in the staff report dated July 8, 2024;

    and

    THAT Heritage Guelph recommends that City Council give notice of its intention to designate 106 Carden Street pursuant to Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act.
