Discussed using a 5-year rolling average for historical waste tonnage moving forward.

Member Smith advised that they have seen condos accept microwaves in the same bin as other EEE waste. It would be easier for residents if they did not have to differentiate between microwaves and other, listed EEE waste at the drop off. The City will look into it further.

Discussed difficulty between clear bag policy and ability for residents to buy opaque bags in store despite not being allowed to fill them in their carts. The City is looking into ways to improve this while maintaining intent to improve sorting and health and safety considerations.

Members requested a copy of previous waste composition audit. The City will look at distributing.
