Mayor Guthrie introduced the item.

Trevor Lee, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Services, provided an overview of the workshop.

Tara Baker, Acting General Manager, Information Technology, explained how a budget is created and its alignment with strategic priorities.

Shanna O’Dwyer, Acting General Manager, Finance/City Treasurer, spoke to the differences between operating and capital budgets. She also talked about revenue streams for the City.

Mark Ellis, General Manager, Human Resources, spoke to the impacts that different types of compensation have on budgets.

Greg Clark, Manager, Special Projects, outlined different capital investments and funding strategies.

Karen Newland, Manager, Finance Client Services and Budget, explained the City's multi-year budgeting process.

Stephanie Devost, Senior Corporate Analyst, provided information on the 2023 approved operating budget.
