    That more information be provided to the AAC regarding the in-person experience versus virtual by Monday October 23rd. And that there be a follow-up by email by October 23rd as well, regarding availability of members.

Stefan, Ilic, Project Manager, made a presentation and received committee member comments on the Annual Play Equipment Lifecycle and the designs for new play equipment at Dovercliffe Park and Howitt Park.

    That staff review the AAC’s recommendations and use those within the City’s Play Plan.

    That the AAC reviewed the selected designs for new playgrounds at Dovercliffe Park and Howitt Park and found them lacking in inclusion, especially for those with mobility impairments. And recommends that the designs be recreated to ensure the greatest possible inclusion of people.

Daniel Di Pietro, Project Manager, made a presentation and received committee comments on the Complete Streets Design Guide - Proposed Pedestrian and Cyclist Crossing.

    That the AAC support the intersection crossing design presented on October 17 and that the AAC recommends ensuring a smooth transition where the ramp is imposed and that staff receive feedback from CNIB on the design and provide it to the AAC.

Alex Jaworiwsky, Manager, made a presentation and received committee comments on the Seasonal Patio Program.

    That the AAC reviewed the Seasonal Patio Program and recommend that the following recommendations made by the AAC on October 17th, 2023 be considered: 

    • Turning radius and paths of travel within patios; and 
    • Making sure that operators are aware of the importance of vehicles for access to the patio spaces; and
    • Additionally, the AAC would like the City to know that road closures need to be viewed as potential barriers for people with disabilities; and 
    • That pedestrian areas need vehicle access because cars and other vehicles are mobility devices for some and the City needs to be aware of that and considered.

Jackie Kay, Project Engineer, made a presentation and received committee comments on the Emma to Earl Active Transportation Bridge.

    That the AAC receive the information provided regarding the two design options for the Emma to Earl Active Transportation Bridge and participate in the Have Your Say public engagement that is currently available until October 24, 2023, and will receive more information in early 2024.
