The committee provided the following comments: The order of items within the objectives and guiding principles should be grouped together into sub-headings. Clear regulations are needed to ensure the buildings are well protected, the landscape is not abused, or trees cut down through future development. The Province’s ownership should be mentioned and the role that IO may play in conservation should be specified. Passive voice should be replaced by active voice throughout the Objectives and Guiding Principles. Replace “should” with “must" or "shall” and "encourage" with "require". In the Draft Guiding Principles, “when restoration is not feasible” should be replaced with “when restoration is impossible”. 3.Staff Announcements Melissa Aldunate, Manager, Policy Planning and Urban Design, provided the committee with an update on the non-designated property at 2187 Gordon Street.
