Councillor Downer provided disclosure of pecuniary related to item 2.2 58 Martin Avenue: Heritage Permit Application.

Chair Epp provided disclosure of pecuniary related to item 3.2 37 Christie Lane: Heritage Attributes and Designation Recommendation.

Jack Mallon, Heritage Planner provided a presentation on 302 & 306 Edinburgh Road South: Application to Remove Properties from the Municipal Register

  • THAT Heritage Guelph supports the planned relocation of the stone markers listed on the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties to their original location at 99 Woolwich Street; and

    THAT Heritage Guelph supports the removal of 302 and 306 Edinburgh Road South from the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties after the stone markers listed on the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties have been successfully removed and reinstalled at 99 Woolwich Street

Stephen Robinson, Senior Heritage Planner provided a presentation on 84 Forbes Avenue: Heritage Permit Application.

    1. THAT Heritage Guelph provides the following comments to the General Manager of Planning and Building Services with respect to heritage permit application HP24-0006 for 84 Forbes Avenue.
      1. Heritage Guelph should have the opportunity to review these plans again if, as determined by the General Manager of Planning and Building, major changes are made to the proposed design
      2. A preferable location for the stairs would be in the backyard
      3. The addition should be set back further from the facade of the original house to achieve subordination
      4. The existing tree canopy should be protected
      5. Preference for brick cladding on street-facing sides of the addition

Stephen Robinson, Senior Heritage Planner introduced a newly hired Heritage Planning Project Manager Imogen Goldie to the committee. 

Jack Mallon, Heritage Planner informed Heritage Guelph that the Committee of Council unanimously supported Heritage Conservation District Study in the Downtown at the September 4, 2024 Committee of the Whole meeting.
