Mayor Guthrie called the meeting to order at (6:00 p.m.)

Jodie Sales, General Manager, Strategy, Innovation and Intergovernmental Services provided an introduction to the topics of the workshop including: recap; community plan approach; community plan timeline, and eliminating systemic racism. Jodie Sales also provided introductions to participants involved in workshop.

Denise Francis, President, Guelph Black Heritage Society presented general information about the Guelph Black Heritage Society.

Kayla "Kween" Gerber, Executive Director, Guelph Black Heritage Society introduced the Guelph Black Heritage Society upcoming event, Change Starts Now Anti-Racism Summit. Kayla "Kween" Gerber also presented information on an ongoing monthly program that will start after the Summit.

Leen Al-Habash, Project Manager, Guelph-Wellington Local Immigration Partnership presented information regarding immigration in the City of Guelph including: overview, demographics, recent immigrants admission categories, education versus occupation, income disparity, data and discrimination, and experience of discrimination research.

Marva Wisdom, Community Plan External Advisor lead a panel discussion around Municipal Leadership and Collaboration which included: Denise Andrea Campbell, Executive Director of Social Development, Finance and Administration at the City of Toronto; Dr. Cara Wehkamp (Algonquin), Special Advisor to the Provost on Aboriginal Initiatives at the University of Guelph; Mohammad Mousa, Program Officer, Social and Human Sciences and Youth, Coordinator of the Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities at the Canadian Commission for UNESCO; and Steve Anderson, Manager, Transportation Engineering at the City of Guelph.

Mayor Guthrie began the question and answer period between Council and the Panelists. 

Jodie Sales provided next steps to Council and how to continue to be connected on the topics presented.
