The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 12:05 p.m.

  • THAT the minutes from the October 11, 2022 meeting of the Heritage Guelph Committee, be approved.

  • THAT Heritage Guelph supports City staff’s proposal to undertake the process to consider designation of the following properties identified on the previous Council-approved work plan and/or previous Heritage Guelph motions under Section 29, Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act: 49 Norfolk Street (Albion Hotel), 47-49 Alice Street (Valeriote Shoe Shop), 65 Delhi Street (Isolation Hospital) and 131 Ontario Street (Tytler Public School).

  • Whereas, at it’s last meeting Council of the City of Guelph voted to remove 50-60 Fife Road from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties. As a result of this, Heritage Guelph is obliged to advise council that:

    1. The removal of  50-60 Fife Rd from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties was undertaken without consulting their Municipal Heritage Committee

    2. Removal of a structure from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties requires consultation with Heritage Guelph and is a requirement of the Ontario Heritage Act, the City of Guelph Official Plan, and is a responsibility outlined in the Heritage Guelph’s Terms of Reference
